Slime Soldier-in-a-Box

Albuca flaccida

Albuca flaccida is a bulb that comes up only in winter. Albuca genus is known as slime lilies because some of the species excrete a slimy residue on their leaves. The leaves range from broader strappy blades to thin grass-like blades. Flowers are yellow to white with distinctive tepal formation in that the inner 3 tepals remain closed and the flowers tend to droop. It was previously known as Albuca mater-familias and Ornithogalum flaccidum.
